Our commitment to continuous improvement and customer care is recognised through the certification of our Quality Management Systems for compliance with the internationally recognised standard ISO9001. In addition, Lift & Engineering Services are independently certificated for compliance with Annex XI of the Lift Directive 2014/33/EU. All of our independent certifications are undertaken by a UKAS accredited certification body. Our quality management system performance is monitored and continuously improved by our SHEQ team.
Insurance & Guarantees
Lift & Engineering Services hold all the necessary insurances that you would expect from a professional company, including:
- Employer’s Liability
- Public Liability
- Professional Indemnity
- Products Liability
- Contractors All Risks
LEIA Contract Guarantee Scheme
As a member of the Lift and Escalator Industry Association (LEIA) we are able to offer customers the LEIA Guarantee Scheme certificate as a guard against unsatisfactory completion of work or failure of the company. The LEIA Contract Guarantee Scheme is underwritten by EC Insurance Company Limited (ECIC). The guarantee scheme is available for Works that involve lift replacement, lift modernisation and new lift installations. If you are considering such works, please ask us about the guarantee scheme.
The base intention of the scheme is to avoid Customers applying costly retention sums within contracts and avoiding us from losses if such Customers enter into administration before our monies are released. The 2018 collapse of Carillion has led to just such issues in their supply chain and the Government has launched an enquiry in to the matter for the whole construction industry.
Business Continuity Management
Lift & Engineering Services acknowledges that occasionally things can go wrong and disrupt business as normal which may influence our ability to continue to deliver our normal level of service. To address the most likely causes of business disruption and plan to reduce the impact, we have a robust Business Continuity Management system in place, which meets the intents of BS25999 (the Business Continuity Management system is in the process of being updated to the new international standard ISO22301 which has replaced BS25999).
To minimise the possibility of customer business interruption, we also maintain a constant high value and wide-ranging stock of industry standard replacement parts, including a comprehensive range of OEM and After Market components as well as a stock of salvaged obsolete parts. Bespoke replacement and repair items can also be designed and manufactured within hours in our manufacturing facility if required.
In addition to our Lift & Escalator Industry Association membership, we hold other industry accreditations required by our customer base including:
- European Platform & Stairlift Association
